Paranormal Perth have a range of equipment that we use during our investigations, this is just some of our methods that we use. When using any equipment its really important to debunk and be sure of you results. Some of the below can be influenced by external factors such as mobile phones – for this reason we always ensure mobiles are off / airplane mode when investigating.
Once an investigation is complete, it takes weeks to go through all the findings.
EVP Meter:
Electronic Voice Phenomena or audio recorders are a handy tool for documenting activity on an exploration. Many ghost hunters and paranormal investigators use them to be a staple investigation tool for recording. Usually single word phrases can be heard after asking questions when playing. sometimes clearly hear answers to our questions that could not audibly be heard.
K2 Meter:
The K2 meter is an electromagnetic field (EMF) detector. In simpler terms, it picks up on fluctuations in electromagnetic energy. Spirits can use their energy to make the lights go from green through amber to red depending on the strength of the electronic field. Excellent for yes/no answers. To debunk any possible interference we always sweep the area for electric sources and always have phones off or on airplane mode to help stop any false signals.
Rem Pod:
Rem Pods are similar to the K2 meter, these pick up electronic fields, if an energy form gets close to it the lights will flash and make a sound. like the K2 excellent for yes / no answers. Simple questions like “are you male” receives no response, the question “are you female” may have a response.
CCTV / Go Pro / digital cameras:
We have 8 day / night vision cctv cameras that we set up around our location. Complimenting those we have several Go Pro cameras with added external battery backups along with hand held cameras.
Cat Balls:
Another visual tool, we have several of these we place around, sometimes in view of our cameras. Should an energy source physically touch them they will light up. Very popular with younger spirits that like to play with them.
Dowsing rods:
A lot of debunking goes on with these, I have used them myself and I can feel the rods been “pushed” one of our investigators, Jess, has a lot of success with these. Again cross the rods for yes open them wide for no
Spirit Apps:
One of our best tools in this class is the “Spirit talker” paid app (we are on no commissions etc to promote this) . There are others however available however we find this one quite accurate. It is an app full of words and the idea is that the spirit can communicate through it using words within the dictionary, Random maybe, but when the random words are related to the area, its hard not to believe. One of our locations has an area of drowning, it will often say “murder” “drowning” “bathtub” etc within this location, which is pretty accurate information.
